At Island RIB Voyages your safety is obviously of paramount importance.
What to wear?
We supply all the equipment required. However if it is a cold day we suggest you bring a jumper or fleece to wear under our sailing jackets.
Life Jackets
We supply children and adults of all ages and sizes with regularly tested life jackets. These will be issued to you at the kiosk where the kiosk manager will help you fit the life jacket and ensure it is adjusted properly.
Adults Automatic Lifejackets
Adults are fitted with jackets that inflate automatically on contact with the water, that also feature a manual inflation toggle.
Children Foam Jackets
Children and toddlers are fitted with foam jackets.
Sailing Jackets
Due to an element of wind-chill in certain conditions on this type of vessel we supply both children and adults with warm waterproof sailing jackets. These are not necessary but they are available to any customer who requires one.
Sailing Trousers
We also supply both children and adults with sailing trousers should weather conditions require them.
Safety Briefing
Your guide will give you a full safety briefing onboard which will entail such items as:
What to do if you feel uncomfortable or sea sick at any time during the voyage that there is no standing at any point during the trip? That the vessel is in constant communication with the harbour authority.
What to do in the event of an emergency?
Feel free to ask your guide any questions at any point during the trip.
